This past week was the 2013 Great American Beer Festival in Denver Colorado. The competition brought brewing professionals from around the United States with brewers representing 49 states.
The ultimate goal of the GABF is to find the top three beers that best represent each beer style category. The beers are judged by a professional judging panel that best describes the standards set forth by the Great American Beer Festival.
The Great American Beer Festival awards gold, silver and bronze medals for excellence in 75 beer-style categories but does not necessarily award medals to the top three finishers in a particular category.
With that, I want to congratulate the winners from both San Diego County, and the Inland Empire of Riverside and San Bernardino Counties. So here they are and their website links……

It’s pretty safe to say, that San Diego has some of the best craft brewers in the nation. Look at all the medal winners here. And with the expansion of microbreweries in the Inland Empire, we can also see the craft beer brewers making outstanding micro brews. The Cities of Redlands and Corona, are to be congratulated for hosting such great Craft Beer facilities.
Of course, even those who didn’t medal, are to be congratulated. As we all know, this craft of beer brewing is an art and all beers can still be enjoyed according to what styles you like.
